Guwahati: In a heartbreaking incident, a child was observed asking for a “delay” when illegally encroachment was being removed in Silsako Beel of Assam as they were not done clearing their home.
“O, Uncle. Please ask them to come a bit later. We haven’t cleared our home yet. Ask them to come 10 minutes later,” the child said.
The administration conducted an eviction drive to remove illegal encroachment. This included a three-storey building worth about ₹3 crores.
They claim that unlawful constructions are situated near to Silsako Beel. The government claims that they are attempting to clear this land in order to build Assam’s Biggest Lake there.
