CISF personnel suspended for strip searching elderly wheel chair bound woman at LGBI Airport

Guwahati: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has suspended a woman constable after a report came that an 80-year-old senior citizen was forced to strip at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Thursday.

The citizen identified as Mhalo Kikon who is a resident of Nagaland.

The incident occurred in the name of “security check” when the elderly woman and her grandson were on their way to Delhi.

According to reports, the elderly woman who is wheelchair-bound and had her hip replacement surgery last year was set to fly on a GoAir flight from Guwahati to Delhi.

Reports further stated that a CISF woman official allegedly ordered her to remove all of her clothes, including her panties and diaper.

Meanwhile, Mhalo Kikon’s daughter Dolly Kikon, a well-known anthropologist from Nagaland, claimed that the CISF forced her crippled mother to strip at Guwahati airport.

She further alleged that CISF security personnel harassed her niece after she filed a police report about the incident.

Sharing the news on Twitter, Dolly Kikon wrote, “My 80-year-old disabled mom was made to strip at the CISF security check at Guwahati airport. The security personnel wanted “proof” of her titanium hip implant and forced her to undress.”
