Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Inaugurates Dibrugarh-Pasighat Flight
Guwahati: Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the first indigenously-made Dornier 228 flight from Dibrugarh in Assam, to Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, in an effort to promote the aviation sector on Tuesday.
Scindia, along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and other officials, boarded the 17-seater Dornier 228 aircraft which was built in India and was making its inaugural flight to Arunachal Pradesh.
While addressing at the gathering in Pasighat, Scindia said, “Today, Dibrugarh is connected to Pasighat and Lilabari. This indigenously developed Dornier 228 aircraft is a shining symbol of the Prime Minister’s aspirations for the country. Initially, the coalition will operate two planes.”
“Within the following several weeks, this road will connect Tezu and Ziro.” We will connect Mechuka, Tuting, and Bijoynagar in the second phase. “Our goal is to enable even the most ordinary citizens of the country to fly,” he added.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited designed and built the plane.
This achievement is in keeping with the governments and the Airports Authority of India’s combined efforts to improve India’s regional connectivity, with a recent focus on the country’s northeast region.
Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu was also present at the event.
Meanwhile, Scindia also inaugurated the Dornier Aircraft route between Pasighat and Lilabari in Assam. The plane will serve as a link between the state’s Advanced Landing Grounds and other airports.
Scindia also underlined the government’s vision of rapidly scaling the country’s domestic connectivity through Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) in coming days.
