Seven die after consuming mushrooms in Dibrugarh’s Assam

Guwahati: Three more people died after consuming mushrooms in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Tuesday.

The deceased identified as Sorumai Karmakar, Champa Karmakar and Rita Neog.

According to reports, a group of women plucked mushrooms near the estate in Sonari town of Charaideo district which they then cooked and ate with their children.

Reportedly, all the women were tea garden workers.

However, on April 6, eight of them suffered stomach pains and were admitted to Charaideo Civil Hospital.

As their condition worsened, doctors referred them to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH).

It needs to be noted that Four of the eight people died on Monday in AMCH.

They were identified as Junali Praja, Rima Karmakar, Chayanika Karmakar and Ajoy Karmakar.

It may be mentioned that all were residents of Sonari’s Lalipathargaon and all the four deceased were members of one family.
