National Desk, 20th April: In a surprising turn of events, Tajinder Singh Bittu, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary in-charge of Himachal Pradesh, has announced his resignation from the primary membership of the Congress party. Bittu, known for his close association with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, has cited personal reasons for his decision, signaling potential shifts within the Congress’s organizational dynamics.

In a formal letter addressed to AICC National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Bittu expressed his resignation from both his primary membership and his role as the AICC Secretary In-Charge of Himachal Pradesh. The announcement, made public on Saturday, has sparked speculation and raised questions about the Congress party’s future in the region.

Taking to Facebook, Bittu shared his sentiments, stating, “with a heavy heart, after 35 years, I resign from the Congress party.” His departure from the Congress fold has drawn attention from political observers, who are analyzing its potential impact on the party’s prospects in Himachal Pradesh.

Following his resignation from the Congress, Bittu made a significant move by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was welcomed into the party at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and party general secretary Vinod Tawde.
