Controversy Over New Parliament: RJD Compares Building Design With Coffin
National Desk, 28 May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Parliament building of the country on Sunday. For the last few days, there has been a lot of controversy over the inauguration of the new building. Several opposition parties have already boycotted today’s inauguration.
Amid this controversy, Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad Yadav, one of the partners of the ruling coalition in Bihar today triggered another fresh controversy. The party has created a controversy by comparing the design of the new Parliament building with that of a coffin.
The controversy was triggered by the RJD in a tweet earlier this morning. In the tweet, the RJD tweeted a picture of the coffin next to a picture of the new Parliament House, saying “what is it”.
RJD leader Shakti Singh Yadav, in support of the party’s tweet, said, “The coffin in our tweet is representative of the burial of democracy. The country does not accept this. Parliament is a temple of democracy and a place of discussion.”
Meanwhile, shortly after the RJD’s tweet, the BJP hit back and said that a sedition case should be filed against those who compare the design of the new Parliament building with coffins.
BJP leader Sushil Modi has made this claim by attacking the RJD. Sushil Modi said, “A case of sedition should be registered against such people who compare the new Parliament Building with coffins.”
Along with Modi, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia also hit back at the RJD, reminding him of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and said that the people of the country will bury the RJD in this coffin in 2024.
