Covishield vaccine were sold to govt at ₹200/dose
Adar Poonawalla, the CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII) said that the first 100 million doses of Covishield vaccine have been sold to Indian government at a reasonable price of ₹200 per dose. Poonawalla further said “We can only give the vaccine to Indian government at the moment.”
Afterwards when the vaccine will be sold on the private market then it will worth ₹1000 per dose. The CEO of Serum Institute further said “Serum Institute was in the process of signing a larger contract with COVAX for 300 million-400 million doses of the vaccine. That is apart from two existing orders of 100 million doses each for the vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca, and another one from Novovax. He said the deal would be finalized in the coming weeks.”
