Guwahati: Assam Government announced relaxation for the Bhogali Bihu in the state.
As per an official notification issued by the state government, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the COVID-19 curfew would be eased by an hour from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. This decision will only be in effect for the Uruka night and the morning following it.
According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the decision was made in consideration of people returning to their homes during Uruka night as well as going shopping early in the morning during Bihu, particularly for fish purchases.
