Cyclonic Storm ‘Tauktae’: strikes Goa, all Airlines cancels flights for today
The severe cyclonic storm ‘Tauktae’ was closest to Goa on Sunday morning with its centre lying about 150 km off the coast of Panaji, the state Capital.
The Indian Metrological Department said that it is very likely to intensify further in the next 12 hours and likely to reach the coast of Gujarat in the evening hours of May 17.
The cyclonic storm was uprooting trees and and snapping power lines as it passed through Goa accompanied by ferocious winds leading to disruption of rail and road traffics.
Considering the prevalent weather conditions due to the severe cyclonic storm all Airlines have cancelled their flights to and from Goa for today.
