Guwahati: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tested positive for Covid-19 and isolated himself at home.
Sharing the news on Twitter Singh wrote, “I have tested positive for Corona today with mild symptoms. I am under home quarantine. I request everyone who has recently come in my contact to isolate themselves and get tested.”
The senior BJP leader said he had “mild symptoms.
It may be mentioned that on January 8, the defence minister while addressing a webinar announced that 100 new Sainik Schools will be set up in the country to provide opportunities for girls to join the Armed Forces.
As per the reports, India reported 1,79,723 new cases of Covid-19 in a span of 24 hours, taking the daily positivity rate in the country to 13.29 percent.
