Guwahati: 11 people including nine were arrested in the Delhi case where a woman was sexually assaulted and paraded on street.

According to reports, among the 11 arrestees, nine are women. The arrests came a day after Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal asked the Delhi Police to submit a detailed action taken report within 72 hours.

Meanwhile, the commission has further sought details of the complaints that were filed earlier against the accused.

Moreover, with the help of CCTV footage and mobile video clips around 10-15 people have been identified and five teams of police are continuously looking for the other accused of the case.

It may be mentioned that the woman was reportedly gang-raped, her face was blackened, and was paraded with a garland of shoes on the streets in the Vivek Vihar area of the national capital on Republic Day.

It needs to be mentioned that the incident is suspected to be the result of the woman’s personal enmity with the accused, police said.
