Delhi Incident: Victim had a pillion rider

Guwahati: In a significant development in the case of the Kanjhawala road accident occurred when the Delhi Cops found that Anjali (20) was riding a scooter with other people when the incident took place. She was on a scooter with another girl when the car struck it.

“When we traced the route of the deceased, it was found that she wasn’t alone on her scooty. A girl was with her at the time of the accident. She suffered injuries and fled from the spot but the deceased’s legs got stuck in the car, after which she was dragged,” said Delhi Police.

According to the police, the route mapping CCTV footage, and statements with locals used in the case investigation revealed that there was another woman riding the scooter with Anjali at the time of the accident.

The second woman, who sustained minor injuries in the mishap, reportedly left the scene for her house after it occurred. Police said they had located the girl, and they would be recording her testimony on Tuesday.

Anjali’s leg became locked in the automobile axle during the collision, and the accused driver pulled her for 13 kilometres while the other woman on the scooter sustained just minor injuries. The automobile that hit the 20-year-old girl’s scooter is said to have dragged her for about 13 kilometres.

Shalini Singh, an IPS officer now serving as the Special Commissioner of the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), has been tasked by the Ministry of Home Affairs with conducting a thorough investigation into the situation.

The Special Commissioner and a police team examined the crime scene at Krishan Vihar in Sultanpuri at around 12:30 in the morning on Tuesday. Shalini Singh visited four to five places and the scene where the girl’s body was found.
