Guwahati: Two students were expelled from Dibrugarh University for violating the norms of anti-ragging.
The students were identified as Rituparna Das and Kingku Saikia and both of them were the students of 5th semester Department of Mechanical Engineering Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology(DUIET).
In a notification issued by the University authority it was mentioned thta both students were suspended with an immediate effect for two years for allegedly ragging the juniour students in the premises of Guruprasad Das Chatra Nivas hostel.
It may be mentioned that one suspended student Rituparna Das was also the former Assistant General Secretary of All Assam Students Union (ASSU) in the year 2021-2022.
