Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs in the state Assam Police seized a huge quantity of drugs and arrested two suspected drug peddlers including a woman at the Assam’s Nagaland border.
Following a tip off the Namtola police launched an operation against drugs at the Assam’s Nagaland border and recovered around 260 grams of suspected heroin and the arrested the two accused.
As per the sources the seized drugs are worth around 20 lakhs.
Meanwhile, the two accused were identified as Prakash Tamang (17) and Phulmati Tamang (50.
Moreover, Police on the other hand also arrested Saju Hussain, the driver of the auto carrying two drug peddlers during the police operation.
It may be mentioned that legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.
