EC: Congress to hold virtual rallies, physical rallies prohibited

Guwahati: Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, the Congress is preparing to hold virtual rallies after the Election Commission of India prohibited physical demonstrations in the five poll-bound states until January 15.

According to reports, a green room will be put up at the party’s headquarters in Delhi, state capitals, and numerous districts in election-bound states so that leaders can digitally communicate with voters.

Green rooms would also be run from Sonia Gandhi’s and Rahul Gandhi’s homes, reports claimed.

For its digital campaign, Congress will also employ social media networks. Twitter will be used to establish the narrative based on the most recent facts, while Facebook and Instagram will be utilized to address a variety of issues. Social media networks will be used to broadcast live video material.

Reports further claimed that the party will pay close attention to the content of the digital rallies. To engage the broader population, the content will be fresh, attention-getting, and stimulating.

However, there is also a proposal to host virtual 3D rallies of major leaders, which has yet to be completed.

During the rallies, Congress will also employ local culture, language, and folk songs to engage with the people.
