Election Results: Who will win Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh, Telangana? Counting Underway
National Desk, 3rd December: Amid heightened security measures, the counting of votes for state legislative assemblies in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana is underway. These assembly elections are seen as a crucial indicator ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections.
The Election Commission rescheduled the vote counting in Mizoram to December 4, Monday, considering the significance of Sunday for the Christian majority population in the state.
Counting started at 8 am for 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 90 in Chhattisgarh, 119 in Telangana, and 199 in Rajasthan. The votes for one seat in Rajasthan were postponed due to the demise of the Congress candidate.
Election officials and security personnel have been deployed in adequate numbers across all states to ensure a smooth and problem-free counting process. Civil society appeals led to the rescheduling in Mizoram, recognizing Sunday’s importance for the Christian community.
The outcomes of these elections are anticipated to influence the political landscape leading up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Exit polls had varied predictions, indicating the BJP’s advantage in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while Congress leads in Telangana and Chhattisgarh. The results will be closely watched as they offer insights into the political dynamics of these regions.
