Electricity Regulatory Commission: No Hike in Rates Before March In Assam

Guwahati: Electricity rates in Assam won’t go up until March.

This was announced by Electricity Regulatory Commission on Tuesday.

According to reports, the panel will make a judgement after hearing people’s perspectives.

The general public, parties and organisations may lodge complaints online through their portal till January 22.

The commission is most likely to hear the case and reach a conclusion in early March.

It should be noted that the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) had suggested raising electricity prices by Re 1 per unit in the state.

The Electricity Regulatory Commission received the request and it will make a decision on the price increase today.

APDCL reportedly made the decision to maintain dependable supply and to offer customers improved services.
