Ex Indian Cricketer Vinod Kambli Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting his Wife

Guwahati: The Mumbai police have arrested former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli for allegedly “assaulting” his wife.

A FIR was filed against Vinod Kambli in connection with the incident at the Bandra police station in Mumbai.

Kambli is accused of abusing and assaulting his wife while intoxicated.

Vinod Kambli’s wife Andrea Hewitt said in her FIR that Kambli had verbally harassed and physically assaulted her.

However, no one has been taken into custody as of yet in relation to the purported occurrence.

According to reports, Andrea claimed that Vinod Kambli hit her in the head with the handle of a cooking pan causing her to have a brain injury.

In the complaint, Kambli’s wife Andrea said: “Despite trying to pacify him, he abused me and my son for no reason. He charged at us. After hitting the cooking panhandle, he charged again with a bat. I managed to stop him before leaving with my son, and rushed to the hospital.”

According to the FIR, a case has been filed against Vinod Kambli under Indian Penal Code sections 504 (intentional insult with purpose to incite breach of peace) and 324 (voluntarily inflicting harm with dangerous weapons) (IPC).

Vinod Kambli has been requested by the Mumbai police to appear at the Bandra police station and give a statement.
