Ex US President Donald Trump Likely To Be Arrested, Urges for Protests
Guwahati: Former US President Donald Trump stated on March 18 that he is likely to be arrested in conjunction with the ongoing investigation into a hush money plot involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels. He also urged his fans to protest any such action.
Trump wrote about himself in a post on social media, stating that “the leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week.” He omitted to say why he was being held. Following Trump’s post his staff claimed that it had not heard from the prosecution.
The prosecution has been debating whether or not to charge Trump. According to reports, it might come the following week.
It will be the first time a former American president has ever faced criminal charges if he is indicted.
Trump has vowed to carry out his campaign to become the Republican candidate for president in 2024 even if he is indicted.
An indictment might have the same outcome as earlier investigations into him such as the Mar-a-Lago raid and the Russia probe both of which led to impeachment trials.
It is currently unknown whether he will face criminal charges this week or even what those accusations might entail specifically.
On the other hand, given that the former president has called for widespread protests and predicted an arrest this is a journey into uncharted terrain.
