Guwahati: In a horrific incident, a man allegedly threw his two-year-old son from the first floor of a building in Kalkaji area of the national capital before jumping from the roof, Delhi Police informed.
The incident took place on Friday night.
As per Mann Singh’s estranged wife Pooja, 30 year old Mann Singh was drunk when he went to her residence and started fighting with her. He took his son to the terrace of the first floor and “threw him down”.
Kalkaji Police Station received information about the incident at about 10:38 pm, which stated that one individual had jumped from his house’s roof after throwing down one child to the ground.
According to the police, neighbours informed them that Pooja’s grandmother owned the home where the incident took place.
Pooja told police she was estranged from Singh.
The woman told police that she and her two children had been living with her grandmother.
“Mann had come here at around 6-7 pm and started to quarrel with me under the influence of liquor. Suddenly, he took my 2-year-old son to the terrace of the first floor and threw him down. He also jumped thereafter, Pooja said.
Both the man and the child are receiving medical care at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
A case of FIR No. 753/22 under sections 307 IPC has been filed and police have taken up an investigation.
