Guwahati: Fed up with years of physical and mental torture, a woman allegedly killed her husband in Darrang district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Mangaldoi area of the district.
The accused identified as Rajita Boro who has confessed of killing her husband Prafulla Boro.
While addressing to media, Rajita claimed that she killed her husband in self-defense and wrath when he began thrashing her early in the morning.
She said that Prafulla was drunk.
According to police, Rajita allegedly killed her with a wooden plank.
Rajita further stated Prafulla had been physically assaulting her for a long period.
It needs to be mentioned that a case of murder has been registered by the police.
