Ferry Carrying Over 50 Passengers Stranded In Assam’s Majuli
Guwahati: Passengers on a ferry became stranded in the Brahmaputra River in Assam’s River Island Majuli on Thursday.
Reports claim that the “Maa Vaishnavi” ferry was travelling from Majuli to Dhunaguri Ghat in Lakhimpur.
The boat, which was carrying more than 50 people got stuck in the strong river for an hour and a half.
The ship was also hauling 25 bikes and a four-wheeler.
However, the reason behind the situation is yet to be ascertained.
A ferry capsized in Nimati Ghat in September of last year after colliding directly with another ferry.
