Guwahati: The Assam Athletics Association (AAA) has announced that sprinters Hima Das and Amlan Borgohain will receive financial assistance.
Hima Das will receive Rs 1 lakh from the association, while Amlan Borgohain would receive Rs 50 lakh.
This was stated by the Vice President of the Sports Authority of Assam and General Secretary of the Assam Olympic Association, Lakhya Konwar on Saturday.
The Assam Olympic Association and the Guwahati Sports Association will host a marathon run on June 23
It may be mentioned that India’s Hima Das will compete in the 4x100m relay at the Commonwealth Games.
Hima finished second in the women’s 200m sprint at the 61st National Senior Inter-State Athletics Championships, which ended on June 14 in Chennai. Meanwhile, Amlan Borgohain won gold in the men’s 200m event.
