Five Detained in Connection with Moral Policing Incident in Morigaon, Assam; Irate Mob Attacks Police

Guwahati, 26th July: The Mob Lynching incident of Morigaon Assam five individuals, including a woman have been detained for their alleged involvement.

The detainees are Jogeshwar Das, Babuli Das, Ajit Das, Kamaleshwar Das, and Chakrasingha Das, and they are being investigated in connection with the event.

Earlier on Tuesday a shocking incident happened in Morigaon’s Ahatguri, where a man named Saddam Hussain was reportedly beaten to death by a group of irate locals, suspecting him of cattle theft.

When the Morigaon Police were informed of the event, they hurried to the scene to intervene and contain the situation. However, in a fit of passion, the enraged mob attacked the police, thereby taking the law into their own hands. The mob was observed throwing stones at police officials who tried to rescue the rustlers from the enraged throng, stopping the situation from deteriorating further.

During the incident, two others identified as Billal Ali and Mizarul Haque sustained severe injuries and were urgently taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition for immediate medical attention.

Furthermore, one of the police officials present at the scene also suffered injuries as a result of the mob’s stone-pelting.

The incident has raised concerns about vigilantism and moral policing in the region, prompting authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. The detained individuals are expected to face the legal actions, while the police are working to ensure the safety and security of the public in the area.
