Flood Situation Improves in Assam, nearly 3500 People Still Affected
Guwahati: Assam’s flood situation is progressively improving, with the total number of people and districts affected reducing across the state.
Four districts in six revenue circles namely Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Morigaon, and South Salmara are currently wallowing in floodwaters.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority’s (ASDMA) most recent report, a total of 3498 individuals are still stranded in the floodwaters.
Currently, 34 villages are flooded and 645.00 hectares of cropland have been devastated in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts.
This year, 38 individuals died in floods and landslides across the state.
Apart from that, according to the ASDMA, no major river in the state is currently flowing beyond the danger level.
