Flyover collapsed in Hyderabad: 9 workers injured in flyover collapse

National Desk, 21 June: In a tragic incident, as many as nine workers were injured after an under construction flyover at LB Nagar in Hyderabad suddenly collapsed on Wednesday night.

As per reports, the accident took place at around 3am. Some of the workers who were victims of the accident were in deep sleep when the tragic incident took place due to which they did not get any clue about the accident.

It is to be noted that the under construction flyover is located on the outskirts of Sagar Ring Road in Hyderabad.

Reportedly, the injured persons are construction workers of the bridge who have been identified as residents of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Rescue teams were rushed to the spot after the authorities received information about the incident. They act swiftly to rescue the victims and took them to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

LB Nagar MLA Sudhir Reddy and GHMC project officials have reached the spot and inspected the accident site and the debris were removed.

According to reports, the condition of four of the injured workers is currently critical which has raised concerns over the incident. However the exact reason behind the collapse of under construction bridge is not known yet.

An investigation into the incident has begun.

Speaking to the media, Sridhar Reddy, ACP, LB Nagar, said, “The incident took place around 3.10 am on Wednesday. Slabs were placed between one pillar to another. It has been speculated that the system of balancing the slabs while installing them was not correct. Among the nine injured, Rohit’s condition in Uttar Pradesh is more critical. We have registered a case in connection with the incident. “
