Foreign National Arrested in Guwahati for Forged Passport, Violating Foreigners Act
Guwahati, 4th September: Assam police apprehended a foreign national in Guwahati on Monday, charging him with using a forged passport to enter the country, as per The Foreigners Act of 1946.
Reports indicate that the Hatigaon Police in Guwahati successfully detained the foreign national, identified as Waziniki.
According to available information, the foreigner had been residing in the Hatigaon locality of Guwahati for a certain period.
A case has been registered under the Foreigners Act of 1946, numbered 287/23, at the Hatigaon Police Station, leading to the arrest of the accused.
It has also come to light that the individual had converted to Hinduism in 1980 and assumed the name Guru Prasad Swami. He resided in Jamshedpur and operated an institute called Ajj Payoga Foundation. The foreign national first visited Assam in 2016 and reportedly preached Hinduism in Poland.
