Former Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia Hospitalized Again for Medical Tests

International Desk, 12th September: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson, Khaleda Zia, was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on September 12 for medical tests. This comes just weeks after her release from the same hospital following 45 days of treatment.

Zia’s physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, stated that the medical board recommended several tests, and her treatment plan will be determined after reviewing the results. The 77-year-old former PM has been battling various health issues, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, and heart problems.

Zia’s hospitalization follows her recent acquittal in five separate cases and her release from house arrest, which lasted five years. Her doctors have been recommending overseas treatment since her liver cirrhosis diagnosis in 2021.
