Former TMC Tripura Unit Chief Pijush Kanti Biswas Rejoins Congress

Northeast Desk, 27th February: Pijush Kanti Biswas, who resigned from his position as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Tripura unit chief last year, has officially returned to the Congress fold.

Biswas, previously serving as the president of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, marked his re-entry into the Congress during a formal ceremony held at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters.

He was warmly received by Tripura Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, former minister and MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and Congress’ Tripura in-charge Girish Chodankar.

Expressing his elation, Biswas conveyed during a press conference, “Today marks the happiest day for me as I rejoin the Congress.”

He further voiced criticism regarding the perceived neglect of northeastern states by the Prime Minister, highlighting Rahul Gandhi’s Nyay Yatra initiative that commenced in the northeast.
