Govt Sources: 2nd Covid-19 Booster Dose Not Required
Guwahati: A second booster dose is currently required depending on the nation’s existing Covid-19 status, said government sources.
“First we have to complete the booster drive in the country,” said the government sources.
“No discussion has been started even in the Immunisation panel National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) regarding the second booster dose. Our first priority is to complete the first booster drive in the country,” said another official source to ANI.
Data from the Union Health Ministry show that there were 134 new cases recorded on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases in India to 2,582.
According to figures from the ministry, a total of 220.11 billion vaccine doses—95.13 billion second doses and 22.41 billion precaution doses—have been given thus far as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.
