Gunotsav 2022 to be held from April 20 across Assam

Guwahati: The Education Department will conduct the Gunotsav 2022 in three phases across the State between April 20 and May 12.

The first phase to be held on April 20, April 21 and April 22 will cover Baksa, Chirang, Dhubri, Dima Hasao, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Kamrup (Metro), Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and West Karbi Anglong districts.

The second phase to be held on April 25, April 26 and April 27 will cover Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Charaideo, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Nagaon and Nalbari districts.

The third phase of Gunotsav, to be held on May 10, May 11 and May 12 will cover Barpeta, Cachar, Golaghat, Hojai, Kamrup, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Morigaon, Sivasagar, South Salmara-Mankachar, Tinsukia and Udalguri.

According to officials of the Axom Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan Mission, students from Class I through Class IX will be evaluated scholastically. Due to the fact that the new academic session will begin in April, students will be given exam papers that correspond to a lower class. As a result, freshly promoted Class-II students will be given exam papers intended for Class-I, and so on for the other Classes.

Furthermore, students in Class V and Class VIII in the present academic session of 2021-2022 who will be in Class VI and Class IX in the 2022-2023 academic session in different schools will be required to appear for the Gunotsav evaluation in their original schools.

It needs to be noted that the proposed exercise will encompass 42,51,524 students in 46,251 government, provincialized, and tea garden-managed schools.

‘Gunotsav’ is a framework for enhancing the quality of elementary education that incorporates children’s learning outcomes, co-curricular activities, and resource use, as well as community participation.
