Guwahati City buses to pay fine upto Rs 10,000 if found violating rules: DTO

The city buses in Guwahati will have to pay a fine of up to Rs 10,000 for breaking the rules set by the transport department. The District Transport Office (DTO), Kamrup Metro has laid down a few rules which have to be maintained by the city buses. Upon violation, a fine will be enforced by the DTO.

The norms laid by the DTO are as follows:

  • There should be a complaint number displayed at the back of the bus.
  • There should be a back door Entry and front door Exit.
  • The conductor and the handyman have to be in uniform.
  • There will be no stopping in the middle of the road. Stoppage time is set for two minutes.
  • Tickets should be given to the passengers mandatorily.
  • There should be a first aid box in the bus.
