Guwahati: City reports scarcity of buses ahead of PM’s visit
Guwahati: Assam is all set to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state and preparation for the same is in full swing but amid this the local people in Guwahati facing problems as the city witnessed scarcity of city buses.
Since yesterday, there has been a shortage of buses, purportedly because transportation facilities have been earmarked for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam tomorrow.
In the sweltering heat of the city, local commuters have expressed their dissatisfaction and anguish. Many people waited for a city bus for at least an hour.
Students who travel by public transit have difficulty getting to their schools or institutions.
Meanwhile, no plans have been made to alleviate the city’s transit shortage.
It may be mentioned that the District Administration is also silent on the issue.
