Guwahati HC Orders to Probe Financial Scam in 4 State Universities
Guwahati: The Guwahati High Court on February 28 ordered an investigation into financial fraud at four state-funded universities.
The investigation has been ordered in Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Tezpur, and the Assam Agricultural University.
The Anti-Corruption and Monitoring Branch has been ordered by the High Court to look into the situation.
Sources claim that these four universities have scammed 200 crore rupees. The High Court ordered an investigation following the Amguri Navnirman Samiti’s filing of a Public Interest Lawsuit (PIL).
In 2021, a hugefinancial scam of Rs 40 crore was reported in IDOL of Gauhati University.
The Disciplinary Punishment Committee handed in its report on the 40 crore rupee financial fraud on Saturday.

Reports claim that former IDOL Director Kandarpa Das was charged with a massive Rs. 40 crore financial fraud.
Following that, a meeting of the University’s Executive Council was planned to discuss the relevant issue.
