Guwahati: Guwahati Police seized a huge quantity of drugs in the city arrested two suspected drug peddlers in the city on Friday.
The two arrestees have been identified as Aboy and Imran. Both are the residents of Thoubal, Manipur.
An East Guwahati Police Department from Jorabat Out Post under the Basistha Police Station launched an operatin and arrested the two accused at 13 Mile in Jorabat today.
During the operation the police recovered around 201.5 grams of suspected Heroin and 15 shop cases from the accused from a pick-up truck.
It may be mentioned that the market value of the seized drugs is around Rs 2 crores.
Guwahati Police sharing the news on Twitter wrote, “An EGPD team from Jorabat OP under Basistha PS arrested 2 drug traffickers, Aboy & Imran, both from Thoubal, Manipur, at 13 Mile in Jorabat today. A total of 201.5 gms of Heroin & 15 soap boxes were recovered from their possession, as was a Pick Up Truck.”
