Guwahati: Guwahati police seized a total of nine packets of suspected Cannabis (ganja) from a grocery shop in Guwahati’s Lokhra bazaar.
The accused has been identified as Rumi Mahanta who is reportedly said to be the owner of the grocery shop.
Informing the news, the Guwahati police took Twitter and wrote, “A WGPD team from Jalukbari PS apprehended one Rumi Mahanta (25), today evening, from her grocery shop in Lokhra Bazaar and recovered 9 packets of Ganja”.
“The supplier – Tapochi Biswas of Village Mayeng 1, Bhurgaon in Morigaon was also arrested”, the tweet added.
The officials further informed that the alleged supplier was also apprehended later that day.
