Guwahati: Two girls from Guwahati have been suspected to have joined the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
The girls identified as Saraswati Das and Rumi Deka who is a resident of Kharguli in the Uzan Bazar area.
According to reports, the girls informed their families on February 15 that they would be travelling to Dibrugarh for work at a private company.
But after they left all communication to them snapped.
Both females were later reported to have arrived in a ULFA-I camp on Wednesday, but it was unclear where they were.
They are believed to have joined the ULFA-I under the leadership of one of the proscribed terrorist group’s top leaders.
However, the inquiry into the matter is still ongoing, and it is unclear whether they have joined the group or have been kidnapped.
Their relatives claim to have no idea where they went.
They claimed that the issue was only brought to their attention by the media.
