HM Amit Shah Inaugurates National Tribal Research Institute In Delhi
Guwahati: The newly constructed National Tribal Research Institute (NTRI) in Delhi has been inaugurated by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday.
The institute will be a leading national institute for the promotion and preservation of tribal heritage and culture, as well as the nerve centre of tribal research in the academic, executive, and legislative domains, reported ANI.
While addressing at the ceremony “Today is a significant day. The National Tribal Research Institute is finally taking shape, thanks to Prime Minister Modi’s vision. We may dismiss it as merely another institution, but it plays an important role in nation-building.”
The NTRI will work with reputable research institutes, universities, and organisations, as well as academic bodies and research centres, to collaborate and build a network.
It will also monitor the work of Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs), Centres of Excellence (CoEs), and NFS research researchers, as well as establish standards for improving research and teaching quality.
The institute will also be in charge of giving policy recommendations to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and state welfare ministries, as well as designing studies and initiatives to improve or promote tribal lives on a socioeconomic level.
It will also construct and manage the PMAAGY database, as well as give recommendations for the establishment and operation of tribal museums and the display of the country’s unique tribal culture heritage.
