Hojai: One injured in Elephant Invasion
Guwahati: Despite numerous measures to control man-elephant conflict there are several cases still being reported from various locations of Assam. On Sunday it was reported that one person in Hojai’s Lankajan was injured in an alleged elephant “invasion”.
On Saturday midnight, an elephant entered the Lankajan village and raided the house of one person identified to be Harej Ali in search of food creating chaos among the locals of the area. After raiding the house for hours, the elephant destroyed property worth several thousand.
The family members of Ali however, managed to get out of the way but Ali’s father could not make it out.
Ali’s father had come in front of the elephant and in an attempt to escape the jumbo, he came to the notice of the giant triggering it to attack. Ali’s father in the attack was severely injured and is now under critical care at a local hospital.
