Guwahati: A truck belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) that was suspected to be carrying explosive materials raised tensions after an accident occurred at Sonapur in the outskirts of Guwahati city.
Massive traffic jams have been caused by the incident along the National Highway.
Soon after, local police and army authorities arrived to the scene and cordoned off the area to prevent any mishaps. They advised people to stay 500 metres away from the scene of the tragedy.
According to reports, the truck lost control and flipped over on the interstate. Fortunately, no injury or fatality was reported.
Authorities have also temporarily closed the road leading to Guwahati City in light of the incident.
Meanwhile, work is being done to remove the blockage and reopen the road for easy vehicular traffic.
