IMD predicts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall for Sikkim, Arunachal and six other states

National Desk, 7th March: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning predicting rainfall in eight states and union territories in the coming days. The rainfall is expected to persist until March 9 in Odisha.

West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to experience rainfall until March 8, while Arunachal Pradesh may witness it over the next five days.

Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are forecasted to witness rainfall from March 10 to 12.

According to the IMD, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall/snowfall is expected over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on March 6th and 7th.

Furthermore, a fresh Western Disturbance is anticipated to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of March 10, 2024.

In the North East India region, scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is predicted over Arunachal Pradesh during the next two days, followed by isolated light rainfall or snowfall over the subsequent five days.
