IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall in Northeast states From Today

Guwahati: Rain is anticipated to fall in a number of locations in the northeast for the next few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the northeastern states are likely to have light to moderate rain or thundershowers from February 21 to February 23.

There’s also a chance that there will be a few isolated, heavy falls across Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of the country will not experience any noteworthy weather during the next four to five days, though.

Light isolated to scattered rainfall is anticipated over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur due to southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal over the Northeastern States at lower tropospheric levels during the next five days. Light to moderate scattered to widespread rainfall is also expected over Arunachal Pradesh.

Similar meteorological conditions will be present in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the following three days. The MeT Department predicts that on February 21 and 22, sporadic heavy rainfall would likely occur over Arunachal Pradesh.

Thunderstorms are expected across Assam and Meghalaya during that time.
