Guwahati: Raijor Dal chief and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi received a successful procedure for heart problems on Friday at Bengaluru’s Narayana Health City Hospital.

According to reports, Akhil Gogoi’s operation completed successfully in the early parts of the day. He had flown there after being advised to visit Narayana Health City Hospital in Bengaluru.

The Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati referred him there when it became evident that Gogoi would need surgery.

The Sivasagar MLA was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia, a disorder that causes a faster-than-normal heart rate to start above the heart’s two bottom chambers, by medical professionals at Narayana Health City Hospital.

Dr. Shreesha Shankar Maiya and Dr. Kapil Kumawat, who performed the EPS RFA treatment on the Raijor Dal chief, were observing him with skill.

Gogoi has been retained in the CCU for postoperative observation after his surgery was successfully completed.

Additionally, following the procedure, doctors assured him that he was entirely safe and that there was no need to be concerned.

It should be mentioned that Akhil Gogoi’s condition rapidly deteriorated on October 26 and he was taken to a hospital in Delhi.

Later on, while undergoing treatment in Guwahati’s GMCH, doctors there referred him to the Bengaluru hospital on October 31. He travelled to Bengaluru the next day and got admitted to Narayana Health City Hospital, where he underwent the surgery today.
