INDIA Delegation to Brief Floor Leaders in Parliament After Visit to Manipur

National Desk, 31st July: The delegation of opposition leaders from the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) who recently visited Manipur will provide a comprehensive briefing on the situation in the violence-torn state to the floor leaders in the Parliament building today.

Following their visit to Manipur, the opposition leaders returned to Delhi and are now set to meet in the Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s chamber in the Parliament.

During their visit to Manipur, the delegation visited several relief camps in Imphal, Moirang in Bishnupur district, and Churachandpur, where they met with the victims of the violence. They also presented a memorandum to Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey during their visit.

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, part of the delegation, shared their interaction with the Governor, stating that she expressed her pain and grief while discussing the situation in Manipur. The delegation conveyed their first-hand accounts and experiences during the two-day visit to the relief centers.

After returning to the national capital, the delegation leaders appealed to the Central Government to take immediate measures to restore peace in the state. Most MPs in the delegation expressed concern about the dire conditions of the relief camps housing those affected by the violence across the state.
