India & Japan signs historic pact to enhance 5G & AI technology

India and Japan has finalised a 5G agreement which will provide 5G technology, AI in India. Japan will also help in extending the high-speed internet network in India under the new agreement signed between India and Japan. Indian External affairs minister S. Jaishankar met his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi for a bilateral meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday as part of the 13th India-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue where both the countries agreed to help each other developing high speed 5G network and technology.

The External Affairs Minister in their statement said ” “Recognising the increasing role being played by digital technologies, the two ministers highlighted the need for robust and resilient digital and cyber systems and in this context, welcomed the finalisation of the text of the cybersecurity agreement.”

The 5G cellular technology download speeds is estimated to be 10 to 100 times faster than the current on-use 4G LTE networks.
