India Placed in Group A of AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 2
Sports Desk, 18 May: India U-17 Women’s Team was placed in Group A of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 2 alongside the Republic of Korea, Thailand and IR Iran, following the official draw ceremony held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday .
The Young Tigresses advanced to Round 2 of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers after winning Group F in Round 1 with victories over Myanmar (2-1) and the Kyrgyz Republic (1-0).
The top two teams from each group in the Round 2 Qualifiers will advance to the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Indonesia 2024 which will take place from April 7 to 20.
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has not yet announced the venues for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 2. The dates of the Round 2 Qualifiers are September 16–24, 2023.
Meanwhile, Group B which will be played at a different venues has been assigned Australia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The four teams who qualified will compete with the hosts, Indonesia, the reigning champions, Japan as well as the last year’s finalists and third-place teams, DPR Korea and China PR. The precise dates of the Round 2 games have not yet been determined.
