India’s finest badminton stadium set to be inaugurated in Guwahati

Guwahati, 8 July: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared images of one of the country’s largest badminton stadiums that will be inaugurated on August 11 at Amingaon in Guwahati.

One of the largest stadiums in India is situated in Amingaon on 8 acres of land and cost Rs 118 crore to construct and it has a capacity of 3,553 seats.

Sharing the glimpses of the stadium, CM Sarma wrote in a tweet: “How excited I am to see this big dream coming true! Guwahati is emerging as one of India’s finest badminton centres. With a massive stadium spread over 8 acres, one of the biggest in India, built at ₹118 cr with a seating capacity of 3,553, the stage is set for greatness.”

CM Sarma had earlier on Tuesday inspected the Badminton stadium which is under construction.

Later, speaking to the media, CM Sarma said: “The indoor stadium of Amingaon has been set up as the largest badminton stadium in the country.”

He continued by saying that the Assam government built the stadium and it will be operated by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and the State government.
