Assam state Zoo to become India’s Top Wildlife Destination: Assam CM

Guwahati, 9 July: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Saturday that the Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden will undergo extensive renovations to become India’s top wildlife enthusiast destination.

Taking to twitter, CM Sarma said, “Guwahati Zoo is set to become India’s premier destination for wildlife enthusiasts. With an incredible array of flora and fauna, we’re on a mission to transform it into the country’s finest zoo.”

State experts were sent to investigate the top zoos in India and plan the rebuilding of the state zoo.

The zoo will be renovated to incorporate a sizable theme park, suitable tourist amenities and the planting of native tree species.

Additionally, animal-friendly cages and a full-fledged veterinary clinic for animal rescue, rehabilitation and treatment will be built.

According to the information in the chief minister’s tweet, visiting the zoo would be completely transformed with top-notch amenities, native landscaping and an immersive experience while giving the animals the care they need.

As per the proposed renovation design, the revamped state zoo will include the following:

  1. Souvenir Shops
  2. Food court with seating
  3. Tickets counter with interpretation area and check gates
  4. Jurassic Park
  5. Children Park and Museum
  6. Orangutan View Point
  7. Hippo with underwater view
  8. Birds zone with public plaza
  9. Walk-in aviary
  10. Food court with sambar deer viewpoint
