Initial Images Emerge of 41 Workers Trapped in Uttarkashi Tunnel

National Desk, 21st November: The initial images of laborers confined within the collapsed Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi were unveiled on Tuesday morning.

An endoscopic camera, sent through a six-inch-wide food pipeline, captured these visuals.

Rescuers navigated the pipeline through the tunnel debris on Monday, enabling the delivery of more substantial food quantities and live images of the 41 workers who have been trapped for over a week.

The footage depicts workers in yellow and white helmets receiving food items through the pipeline and engaging in conversation.

Anshu Manish Khalkho, Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), had previously outlined the strategy to employ cameras for monitoring the workers’ condition.

Presently, the camera is in use to ascertain the number of trapped workers and comprehend the internal layout of the tunnel.
