IPS Anand Mishra involved In Road Mishap In Assam’s Kaliabor
Guwahati: Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Anand Mishra met with a road accident in Nagaon district of Assam on Saturday.
The incident took place in the Kaliabor town of the district.
The tragedy occurred as the police officer was participating in a cycling protest called “Ride for Pride.”
Mishra assumed command of the newly created position of assistant inspector general (AIG) of Police for Sports in March of this year.
The officer was previously the superintendent of police (SP) of Assam’s Nagaon district.
On May 3, top Assam Police officials led by Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta launched a bike rally dubbed “Ride of Pride” to promote integration.
The bike rally was held to commemorate Assam Police receiving the prestigious President’s Colour.
The protest began in Dhubri and will span 27 districts across the state in eight days, covering a distance of 2,055 kilometres.
